Monitor "Beak/Pet Wedding" 7"

What can be said about this magnificent band and particularly this EP... I was mesmerized as a child by their performance on New Wave Theatre, a Los Angeles television show that was broadcasted late at night in certain markets throughout America. Monitor would go on to inspire many noise merchants and now, lifetimes later, the name itself invokes the sound. Incredibly unique, Monitor mixed elements of no-wave and Orange Country punk. Unfortunately, like many other Californian bands they wouldn't best document most of the bands songs, and were never to be properly released. They did however put out an LP sometime after this single.

I occasionally check Youtube and google search for Monitor. I used to have a vhs of new wave theater with monitor on them. Watching one of the vocalist adorned with Scandianvian Braids singing monotone, asperger like resonated with my unemotional mind. A slice into my guarded heart and I was hooked! Oh, the days of fresh faces and wiley modes along with liquid personality, I remember them dustily and yesteryearly. I see they had an LP and a 7". I also now see it's rarity. Monitor, Adolescents and 45 Grave what a picnic at Errol Flynns!!! Too bad the pool is gone. Me thinks they buried dead jims bones in thar.

signed an old downey punk who lost his hawk many moons ago.

Kindly, if anyone chances a clip on youtube in future please sent note to youtube profile Henspert.

is that an extra DNA tune in the zip? a bonus? I'll take it. I have the Monitor LP, perhaps I should get busy with it. The LP has a song by the Meat Puppets on it. I love that, just include another band on your album. Thanks for this . . . .
