Cheers for this but unfortunately it won't allow me to unzip it - there seems to be something wrong with the filepath...

We never use passwords for our files, not sure why it's not working but we've seen this suggestion posted before:

Easiest way is to open in Winrar and then simply take the REPAIR FILE option. It saves the file in PC format in another zip file and you just unzip that one.

Please let us know if this works or not! And if anyone has any suggestions on how we can make our files more compatible with PC users (we use a Mac), just let us know. Thanks!

We never even get that far in North East England. We can get Mediafire files to open and download around once a month and Megaupload always gives an Unauthorised message. Most other file hosting services work OK, but never the ones you want!!!

Unfortunately Repair File doesn't come up as an option. All I get is the following (only it's MUCH longer!):

! G:\Documents and Settings\SONY\Desktop\Bgs7780.zip: Cannot create folder The Bags "All Bagged Up '77-'80"
! The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
! G:\Documents and Settings\SONY\Desktop\Bgs7780.zip: Cannot create The Bags "All Bagged Up '77-'80"\.DS_Store
! The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
! G:\Documents and Settings\SONY\Desktop\Bgs7780.zip: Attempting to correct the invalid file name
! G:\Documents and Settings\SONY\Desktop\Bgs7780.zip: Cannot create folder __MACOSX\The Bags "All Bagged Up '77-'80"
! The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Try this: (1) click to highlight the file name (2) go to end of the name and type ".zip" (3) make sure you have downloaded a free copy of WinRaR or WinZip from the creators website (search for it with Google). And it should then immediately change the icon to one that is recognized. The error has something to do with using BOTH Winzip and WinRaR in the filename. 4. Stay Punk.

I can stay punk alright but it's the rest that's more problematical as adding .zip doesn't do the trick either. Any other sugestions gratefully received!

We just downloaded the file and it worked fine, try the suggestions posted above and let us know if any work. As we said before if anyone has any suggestions on how we can make files more PC friendly, just let us know. Thank you!

can someone re-zip it and re-up it to megaupload or rapidfire or whatever? i've tried all methods to bypass the password issue, but nothing has worked. thanks!

strange... i tried downloading and unzipping it on my roommate's computer. i tried the same extracting programs i tried at work, but it worked this time. didn't change file names, extensions or anything. whatever, it worked. so if yr having problems, maybe trying a newer/different version of winrar or something. good luck and enjoy the bags!

i've been waiting for this disk for a long time. alice told me it was in the works a few years ago. i happened across her online via a mutual friend and we had a little email conversation about the bags and some other stuff. she's the shit, super nice, smart, even inspirational (she had some nice words for my now ex-wife about her choice to become a teacher). glad i got to electronically converse with her, even though it was brief.

Old news by now, but I only got here the other day, so maybe this will help someone else: The repair file option comment is correct. To get there, right click on the file in WinRar. My version created a new file called "Rebuilt...", which I then unzipped fine. Been waiting ages for this. Hanx!! ~stu

FIX

change the name of the file to bags.zip

sometimes a really long file name makes it impossible for your winrar or zip application to recognize the file. just make it a short name with .zip at the end. also dont use any weird punctuation.
