Chronic Sick

"Cutest Band In Hardcore"

File under: Mandatory

Formed in '81 in New Jersey they only had 2 releases, and I don't think there's any way you could go wrong with either. In my opinion this is one of the truly great and theoratically underrated bands. They're up there with Helen Keller, obviously sonically different but just the best elements of music. Check it out and see if you agree. I honestly don't believe that anyone would be let down.

Tracklist:

1) There Goes The Neighbourhood
2) Dress Code
3) Public Suicide
4) Man Rape Blues
5) Mucho Macho
6) Pain For Profit

The Neos "Hassibah Gets The Martian Brain Squeeze"

Some serious hardcore for back in the day. Another completely overlooked band, they formed in Canada and were only around for 3 years to release 2 EP's. This single came in an excellent sleeve, the artwork and layout was classic 80's hardcore. Pummeling the vaults here at PNP to try and bring you the other side of music. Enjoy...

Negative Element

"Yes, We Have No Bananas"

Negative Element single that came out in 1983 through Version Sound, which put out some seriously great and underrated bands. (This would be #3 on their label.) This is Chicago's Anti-Pac Man crew's only release as far as I'm aware. Some of us here remember that they might've been on some other compilations and whatnot, if you seek more info I'm sure it's out there somewhere. So many bands...so little brains...

Anyway, this is just another obscure relic, ripped from vinyl and pressed lifetimes ago. This is a good representation of the oddities from the 80's hardcore we here at PNP like to bring you, back when the rules only fell under the one rule, being true. So I hope you enjoy this slab of witty American hardcore and gives all of you hardcore/punk rock collectors a find you might not have been able to find elsewhere..

So here it is, Negative Element "Yes, We Have No Bananas".

Tracklist:

1) Anti-Pac Man
2) Whatever Happened To Elmer Fudd?
3) Temples Of Corruption
4) Just Be Yourself
5) Police Beat (On Me)
6) No Way Out
7) Dough Boy
8) Pay The Lord

Negazione "Lo Spirito Continua"

Italian hardcore gave us some incredible bands, this here is one of 'em. The almighty Negazione released several singles, a few LP's, plus various tapes and demos. They even have a cool website that has there complete discography and info. This is a classic LP that crossed genres like the Leaning Tower of Piza into Seka's vagina.

Total blast from the past and I highly recommend picking up this LP if you can find it. If anyone knows where it's available, clue us in because a few of us here PNP would love to purchase a copy, CD or LP. It'd be much appreciated... Also for the Italian hardcore freaks out there, you might want to check out this label SOARecords.it who have put out some incredibly great reissue CD's by Raw Power, Crash Box and the Peggio Punx. Essential listening. Support the scene and mosh to the sounds of Pizza Core.

Adolescents "Live '81"

Not the best sound, but it captures a great Adolescents live show. This is Orange County circa 1981, I got this off a cassette that Rikk gave me that said "Fullerton 81". The band performs pretty much their first album and the classic "Do The Eddie" for Eddie & The Subtitles before it was called "Do The Freddy" on their 2nd LP "Brats in Battalion."

Tuff Darts "S/T"

Tuff Darts played tough-minded rock with pop hooks, hard rock riffs, and more than a little retro style. They first began making noise on the New York club scene in the early '70s, where their punchy sound and suit-and-tie image earned them gigs opening for the New York Dolls. Do any research on the band and you'll see that various members were in other legendary bands as well.

Deep Wound "Almost Complete"

Compiled from two 7”s and a demo cassette you can hear the development of the band from their early, badly recorded sessions to the proto-metal assault of their later work. There’s an energy, passion and a naivety to these short bursts of punk rock, and the grittiness of the recordings only serves to enhance that. Classic hardcore featuring the future shoe-gazing guru...lap it up.
