The Essentials were a band that came out of South Florida, a little before my time, that featured Pete Moss on the drums. As with most Florida bands you know what you get. Released in 1982 on Safety Net, it seems like a few people would come to appreciate The Essentials way after their time.

Killer EP. I used to live in Florida in the late '80s and only really knew of the Eat as one of the earlier non-hardcore bands.
