Black Flag Tribute For The WM3

Henry Rollins shows his true colors and power by putting together this great compilation of Black Flag songs to pay tribute to one of the best causes there could be. Henry got his favorite singers and the most respected artists of our times to try to recreate and capture something unique and to give every guy that was inspired by the mighty Flag a chance to sing and contribute to a mighty cause. Many will dispute the obviousness of trying to reduplicate any Black Flag song, but for many listeners this is up there with one of the best tribute albums on purpose alone. For any fan of true punk rock, go out and buy this CD. For any fan of the truth, go out and support the West Memphis 3 and raise more awareness for a cause that is of the upmost importance. This will only be up for a limited time as I think it's still available, so hopefully this will give you a taste and you'll be able to find this CD and support the cause. Spread the word and death to the narrow minded pigs. Enjoy...

Unwanted "Shattered Silence"

Many of you will know this band from their mere presence on the classic compilation "Something To Believe In" on B.Y.O./Headbutt records. This is their full length album that's never been reissued, to my knowledge. Classic Canadian punk from Winnipeg, if you're a fan of the Canadian Subhumans, Personality Crisis and the like then I'm sure this hidden gem will get you off. Slit wrists and classic shit. The great white north strikes again with another amazing slab of Canadian wax.

5) Shattered Silence
6) Die A Slave

Guillotine Terror "義ノ狼" + "Battle Zone"

I've seen a single floating around making the blog rounds by this band Guillotine Terror. For any of you that are aware of that single, here are 2 cd's I was lucky enough to find. Not your traditional Punk Not Profit post, but I think the Amebix meets Hellhammer meets G.I.S.M. feel of this crust-laden metal from the shores of Japan will bring a smile to those endless pussy footers with punk metal roots and appreciation. Try it and let us know how this experiment turns out...

The Stalin "Mushi"

This is yet another incredible Stalin album. I was lucky enough to find this remastered in Japan, but I've never seen it outside of Tokyo ever since that one day. Seems awfully unjust for such a great band to not be available in the rest of the world for the most part, at least from my vantage point. Therefore, I have uploaded this at the highest bit rate possible to ensure the best sound for what the band wanted the audience to hear as far as these remasters go. Sure wish someone would make these CD's available so people can hear what effect punk rock had around the world back in the day and how each band and territory would have their own true identity and originality. So for you true punks out there I'm sure you will appreciate this fine album ripped at the highest quality possible for your punk rock pleasures.

Genetic Control "Brave New World (+Extra Tracks!)"

From '82 to '85, the Montreal punk scene was intense and furious, punks were everywhere and Genetic Control were right on top of the movement that spit out many incredible bands like: Scum/The Unruled/Zyklon B/The Discords/No Policy/The Asexuals/The Nils/ and Fair Warning to name a few. They played many shows between '84 and '85, taking time off from playing only to record. This is the true sound of Genetic Control, recorded live (10/4/98) to capture the true spirit and energy of the band.

Avengers "Died For Your Sins"

San Francisco's Avengers are infamous for being the opening band for the Sex Pistols very last show in San Francisco, and with Penelope on vocals there's no doubt that the female fronted band struck a chord with everyone who had seen them. Unlike most pseudo pop-punk shit bands on TV today, they didn't have the millions of dollars or the mass corporations backing them so they could take over the world and given Penelope her rightful place in the punk rock hall of fame as a true strong female kicking out the jams and putting out an amazing body of work. This is a compilation of different recordings from the early days, just to give you a taste to find everything they ever put out to buy. Subsequently, she had a solo career and the Avengers have been back at it from what I hear. Regardless, support this band in any way possible is what our staff endorse uniamosusly. Mandatory macho bullshit destroyers...

Eddie & The Subtitles

"Skeletons In The Closet"

To kick off the New Year...

One of THE classic O.C. punk bands that would be filed under: Most Overlooked and Least Appreciated.

Ask Rikk Agnew or any other O.C. punk still alive who the big daddies were, and Eddie and the band were definitely up there with the Screws, the Chiefs, the Slashers, the Detours, etc... This is yet another crime that these albums are not available on CD. Hopefully this will help spread the word, at least to a few people about a band that influenced a lot of the classic O.C. bands as well as the underground back in the days. Here's the first album and then the second above.

1) American Society
